Performing with the Hope Garden
Children's Ballet Theatre

© 2009, Paolo GalliTo give students live stage experience, Hope Garden Children's Ballet Theatre, a non-profit performance-oriented entity that works closely with the Hope Garden Ballet Academy of Poolesville, Maryland, presents fall and spring recitals every year. The students of the Academy, as well as other talented dancers in the region, are encouraged to participate in these wonderful productions. The dancers perform choreography for their appropriate age and skill level and gain valuable experience in teamwork and confidence. Mrs. Ichijo, the artistic director of the Children's Theatre, offers many Pre-Pointe and Pointe students the chance to solo. Her older students also guide the youngest members of the corps through delightful vignettes.

She not only selects the music and classical choreography, she creates incredible original choreography, as well; all dancers dress in full ballet costume. Most performances also feature guest artists, many of whom are professional dancers from across the region. Hope Garden Children's Ballet Theatre performances, currently presented at the Poolesville High School Auditorium, have grown through the years into beautiful presentations of skill and beauty that are enjoyed by many art and dance enthusiasts in the area.
